This article examines modern development trends in bionic technologies, specifically focusing on the capabilities of bionic unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) created based on biomimetics, artificial intelligence, and robotics. It analyzes how bionic drones mimic the locomotion mechanisms of living organisms—such as birds and insects—and highlights their key differences from and advantages over conventional UAVs. Furthermore, the article explores the applications of bird-like and insect-like micro-drones in surveillance, reconnaissance, special operations, and security. It discusses the low-noise operation of bionic drones, their ability to navigate complex environments, their potential for covert surveillance, and their role in the future development of autonomous systems. The article concludes that bionic technologies are likely to have a significant impact on the future evolution of military strategy, security, and defense systems
